Food poverty is real in Stockport.

Local people are dealing with hunger every day. Too many families are worrying about their next meal because of circumstances beyond their control. The Coronavirus pandemic and cost of living challenges has only increased demand for food parcels and urgent support.

Chelwood Foodbank Plus is here for you.

We have been serving Stockport since 2013. We provide urgent practical support to local people.
In the last 12 months, we issued 2700 food parcels and supported 4050 adults and 2551 children.

Everything we do is made possible by our team of wonderful volunteers. Without these amazing souls we truly could not function. There is a place for everybody to use their strengths and gifts here in the foodbank family.

Delivered

Chelwood Foodbank Plus is not part of a large chain of food banks which allows us to deliver our service in a truly holistic manner. We can help those that need us most without the confines of red tape and unrealistic administrative policies.

Unfortunately, this also means that we do not receive food from supermarket chains that have signed agreements with large national charities. We are totally reliant on the support of our community.

Responsive

We can respond to immediate practical needs of the people and families that need us

Owned and Shaped by the Community

We respond to what our sponsors and the community may want us to do

Partnering

We partner with and rely on local Churches and working with Health and Social care partners.

We also work closely with agencies across South Manchester.
